Arizona Office of Homeland Security

The Arizona Office of Homeland Security was created in March, 2003 by Governor Janet Napolitano to coordinate homeland security efforts among state, federal, local, tribal and border community agencies and entities. Securing the homeland involves many elements including intelligence gathering, analysis and dissemination to detect and deter a terrorist event and emergency planning and preparedness to build capacity to respond to and recover from a large-scale Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) event.
